Abolish Slavery Again

  • by: Alex Sum
  • recipient: President Barack Obama

2013 will be the 150th anniversary of the Emancipation Proclamation and Hope for Justice needs your help to tell our President to lead and stand for freedom against slavery and human trafficking. Why?

        • 27 million slaves in the world today

        • 80% of all victims are girls or women (UNODC)

        • Up to 1.8 million new children in the world are coerced into the sex trade

Tell President Obama we need to abolish slavery in the U.S. and globally...again. Obama already had declared January 2012 as National Slavery and Human Trafficking Prevention Month. Let's have him also address this issue at his next speech addressing the U.N. General Assembly. And let us also make whoever is President after this election, that he (Obama or Romney) address this slavery and human trafficking issue at his President inauguration speech on January 20, 2013.
