Stop Killing Feral Cats; Find Other Methods to Reduce Their Numbers in Australia

Please sign and share this petition worldwide on all media sites in an effort to encourage the Australian government to develop other methods of reducing their feral cat population by other means than resorting to kill them. They are of the belief that the feral cats affect their native wildlife populations but it seems quite barbaric to resort to killing the felines in order to save others. Environmentalists need to develop other methods to reduce the feral cat population other than killing them.

An ongoing issue continues throughout Western Australia regarding the overpopulation of feral cats and it appears the only easy method to save other threatened species is to kill the cats. These animals do not deserve to be killed when they are just doing what comes naturally in their lives. However, it seems the government does not want to invest in better, more humane methods such as spay and neuter practices that can stop overpopulation.

The West Australian Department of Parks and Wildlife has spent many years of research in how to kill the cats rather than finding tasty morsels for the cats that can possibly sterilize them so that they no longer reproduce. Or develop a trap and release program that traps them, spays and neuters them and release them in other areas not such a threat. Investigate and research! Stop killing the cats and take the easy way out. Many citizens would support this effort rather than allow the cats to be horrifically wiped out through a demise method.

We need to make our voices heard and stop these barbaric killings by urging the Australian Government to do their research into other humane methods to save the cats while also protecting the endangered species they say are affected. Read http://www.theguardian.com/environment/2015/jan/30/new-baits-that-appeal-to-feral-cats-could-aid-recovery-of-threatened-species We desperately need your help by signing and sharing this petition worldwide to stop these killings immediately. Other petitions have failed so we need to step our game and make a difference in saving these animals.

West Australian Government and the West Australian Department of Parks and Wildlife - You need to seriously consider other methods of controlling your overpopulation of feral cats other than killing them. You need to engage in some really serious research to develop other methods to reduce the feral population; maybe tasty morsels for the cats that can possibly sterilize them so that they no longer reproduce. Or develop a trap and release program that traps them, spays and neuters them and release them in other areas that are not such a threat. Investigate and research! Many citizens would support this effort rather than allow the cats to be horrifically wiped out through a demise method. Please stop killing the cats and take the easy way out!!! Develop a more humane method of controlling the population that is in the best interest of all the animals involved!
