Support for an LGBTQ+ Club on Campus

The student body tried a couple years ago to create an LGBTQ+ Club on Saint Vincent College Campus. This was sent to the past president of the college Br. Norman. Once he got word of the interest in this club, he did not know what to do and therefore sent it to his supervisor who made plans to create a 'talk group' for the LGBTQ+ community. However, this 'talk group' never came to fruition, leaving students that were part of the movement to make this a club very frustrated. In a peaceful sort of protest they started a GoFund Me page to raise money for t-shirts in all sorts of rainbow colors with the saying "I Stand with Love". Everyone wore these shirts on March 23, 2018 to show the support for a LGBTQ+ club. Sadly, after this day, nothing changed and nothing has changed since. I think that with a new president Fr. Paul at the head of Saint Vincent College that we should take a stand and try to push for an LGBTQ+ club again.
