We Still Don't Know Who Broke Fred the Dog's Legs, Shot Him, and Abandoned Him by a Highway

When people found Fred the dog, he was lying along a major highway in Virginia. His front legs were both broken, making it incredibly painful if not impossible to walk and move. Even worse - when veterinarians examined him, they found that someone had shot him with BB gun pellets 10-20 times. The buckshot was still embedded inside his body.

Who would use a helpless dog as target practice with their BB guns, and break his limbs? The cruelty is unimaginable.

Authorities haven't figured out who did this to Fred yet, but we have to keep pressure on them until this crime is fully addressed. Sign the petition!

According to veterinarians, it seems that Fred's horrific experience in which his legs broke would have occurred around 2 months prior to being dumped alongside the highway. That's around 8 weeks of agonizing pain and being unable to move! Someone hurt poor Fred this badly and then just... left him to suffer for months, before carelessly tossing him like trash next to a road. A car could have easily hit him!

Authorities have stated that: "Despite everything he has endured, Fred has remained incredibly sweet and trusting." He is undergoing continued medical treatment and observation to ensure a full recovery.

Somewhere right now, there is a person who did all of this to Fred - who broke his legs, let him suffer in anguish, shot him 10-20 times, and dumped him along the side of a highway. And that person is just... out there. Because we don't know who this person is, they could still be committing similar crimes against other animals - or even against humans, including children.

Police absolutely MUST make it a priority to correctly identify and find this person, in order to protect their entire community. Sign the petition!
