Native Americans are people, not mascots

Who are Native Americans in our media today? As I answer my question, take into consideration I am only taking what I see in the media, tracking, and adding some sarcasm. My answer to that question would be that they are all red skinned, feather wearing, nature named, arrow and tomahawk throwing, face painted, Indians. If you have ever seen a Chicago Blackhawks, Atlanta Braves, Washington Red Skins, Cleveland Indians, and/or Kansas City Chiefs game you might think the same thing. But it is a true description, right? If the media allows sports teams to wear these logos and advertise these brands for millions of people to see it must be okay, right? Wrong, I obviously do not believe this; it is just how Native Americans are portrayed in sports media today. How could these mascots still be allowed in media today, right? To allow these sports teams to still have these racist stereotypical mascots, it is like we are saying that it is okay, and it’s not.
