Opioids for legitimate usage for chronic pain.

I have Lupus, Fibromyalgia, Severe Degenerating Arthritis of Spine and Major Joints, Scoliosis, and Depression and Acute Anxiety due to severe chronic pain.
I am 71, with a sharp, quick mind and have never abused a drug in my life.
I am hearing horror stories about all the meds I take fastidiously that are about to be taken away from me.
I am currently waiting for a procedure at my pain clinic to burn spinal nerves that are being pinched, crushed and poked from bone spurs or disintegrated chunks of bone. Radiofrequency Ablation helps me, but I need strong pain meds to help me live in between RFA treatments.
Mostly I take Tramadol as prescribed for the many other kinds of pain I suffer. (Only when I am NOT taking an opiod.)
This med shake up will have me live in #8 pain 80% of the time. My doctors can attest to this. I have been ill for 34 years without medicine incident.
Why do addicts and other abusers make me have to suffer?
