Stop Colorado Dog Breed Bans

Breed Discrimination is rampant in Colorado, based off of fear mongering, and misinformation.
Dog breeds labeled as "fighting" are being avidly put down in shelters, and often adopters avoid breeds such as pitbulls, chow, staffordshire terriers, etc. because you cannot find housing.
I implore Colorado residents to overlook the media buzz around "dangerous dogs" and make it illegal for cities to discriminate because of the breed of their dog, especially on public ground.

In addition, allowing "dangerous" dogs with proven records of obedience (the AKC CGC Canine Good Citizen) should be allowed in private areas such as apartments or home rentals (and non compliance could be compared with discrimination). Not only would this help reduce the amount of sweet dogs put down simply because of their breed, and allow more canines to find loving homes, it would encourage responsible pet ownership, proper training, and overall make dog and human interactions safer.

The good news is, legislation is already in act in states such as Utah, please encourage it in our own home state.
