Issues:
1. The FIOS service is currently available in surrounding towns such as: Maple Shade, Mt. Laurel, Marlton, Haddonfield, Cherry Hill and Medford, except moorestown. People living in moorestown are deserved a better internet service with low cost and more choices.
2. Comcast cable is the only fast internet provider in moorewtown. Verizon DSL is not even considered as a fast internet connection. We need another fast internet connection like FIOS for residents and small businesses.
3. We pay same amount of money but we can get a better serive with verizon FIOS. For example, Verizon FIOS with 1gb download/ 1gb upload speed is only for $90.00. For the same amount of money you can only get 75mb download / 15mb upload speed from Comcast. That is a big difference – FIOS is 10x faster than Comcast cable.
4. Many small businesses in moorestown are demanding for high speed internet with consistency download and upload. Upload speed is very important to an internet business because users are browsing your website on your server. Currently, no company can provide same download and upload speed except verizon FIOS which has min 150mb download / upload. Comcast can only provide a very small upload speed. For example, it has 150mb download and 25mb upload – that is too slow on uploadspeed. If your business has several users then your upload bandwidth will be horrible in traffic.
5. Verizon FiOS is providing 2.4 gigabytes per second download speed(Yes, I mean gigabytes, more than 800 times faster than Verizon DSL). That's like downloading 2 movies from iTunes in 1 second, Comcast's non optical system has a theoretical speed limit of only 325 megabytes per second, more than 7x slower than FiOS's theoretical speed.
