ALLOW 16 YEAR OLDS TO GET ALL TATTOOS AND PIERCINGS LEGALLY WITHOUT HAVING TO BE 18

Many people want to express themselves in ways that people can see, or even if it's just for themselves to look at. But not everyone can do this.

Many piercings require you to be 18, or 16 with consent from parents. Parents who don't approve of piercings hold their children back, only because they don't like the way it looks.

Tattoos especially, are what most parents get angry about. The age limit on tattoos holds teenagers that want to get the back. Even with parental consent. Tattoos have their meanings, and to some, the meanings mean more to them than they do to others. It's an opportunity to express yourself in ways that can be seen, or hidden.

In London, the legal age for sex is 16, and you can do it without parental consent. Yet, with tattoos and piercings, 16 year olds are required to get permission from parents if the piercing is not an ear piercing.

We all own our bodies and it should not be up to our parents to give us permission on what we can and can't do to our own bodies.
