What the hell is wrong with Vivek Ramaswamy?
Lots of campaigns run negative ads, but it takes a special kind of asshole to do something this disgusting.
Vivek Ramaswamy, GOP candidate for Ohio governor, put out an ad featuring the estranged mother of his opponent, Democrat Amy Acton. In the ad, she slammed Acton, sayin said her daughter was a liar, might have mental health issues, etc.
What she didn't say was that Acton was removed from her custody at age 12 (along with her younger brother), after her husband was indicted for repeatedly raping her when she was a child. And that when her husband left the state to escape justice, Acton's mother went with him rather than stay with her children (Acton's brother corroborates her account).
When confronted with the ad, Ramaswamy at first denied any involvement, and then finally admitted it, and doubled down by adding millions to the ad buy. Because he is an asshole. And even with Republicans and Democrats across the political spectrum denouncing it, he's still running with it.
Exploiting the rape of a child is not normal. It's disgusting.
Tell him to pull this ad NOW and apologize to Acton NOW
