No Ice Facility in Social Circle, Georgia

  • recipient: residents of Georgia

The Department of Homeland Security (ICE and CBP) has bought a warehouse in a small Georgia town and wants to house up to 10,000 detainees there.

Local human rights and advocacy groups have banded together to try to stop this detention center from happening. Currently the building is a huge, empty, concrete and metal box, not suitable for human occupation. Our goal is to garner enough local, state-wide, and national support to delay and eventually deter the project.

We urge our federal representative, Congressman Mike Collins, who claims to be against the project and who also claims to have close connections with the Trump administration and DHS, to use those connections to convince them to abandon their plans for a Social Circle human warehouse.
