Show your support and agreement that: post mastectomy services for breast cancer survivors are an undeniable and medically necessary part of the treatment and healing process.

"Rather than an afterthought, post mastectomy items and services are and should be considered a necessary stage of the breast cancer healing, process."  --Rhonda F Turner, MeasureUp Magazine

Women should have the right to appropriate medical care regardless of disease, body part or age!!

1 in 8 women will be diagnosed with breast cancer in their lifetime.

Post Mastectomy care and services are vital benefits to breast cancer survivors.  But Medicare (CMS) refuses to pay for a Custom Breast Prosthesis for women who have had a mastectomy, stating in their Local Coverage Determination Payment Policy that, it is "Medically Inappropriate".

Most private insurance companies use Medicare policy as a coverage standard.

Because of this practice, private insurances are now denying coverage for custom breast forms

This issue affects all women, young and old!

Legislation will soon be re-introduced in both the House of Representatives and the Senate to change this policy.  Furthermore,  this is not just a Medicare issue as many private insurances base their payment policy and rates on Medicare.

Signing this petition will let Medicare, Congress and all Private Insurances know that women should have the choice of a Custom Breast Prosthesis if medically prescribed!

Signing this Petition will let your legislators know that healthcare benefits for breast cancer survivors is NO JOKE!

Please pass this on.  We need your Help to raise awareness and reach our goal guaranteeing re-introduction!

Dear Congress,

Please support legislation that will ensure that breast cancer survivors have medically appropriate choices for post mastectomy services.
