Eli Singer skate park

  • by: Robert Singer
  • recipient: Union City residents, to include Skate Park Visitors

The signers of this petition support naming the Union City skate park the "Eli Singer Skate Park" in honor of a deserving, skilled, and popular member of the skatepark community. While on his BMX bike on 12/23/19, Eli was struck by a vehicle on Union City Blvd, and succumbed to his injuries on 12/28/19. The signers of this petition enthusiastically support the skat epark becoming the Eli Singer skate park as a fitting commemmoration.

First on his scooter, and then on a BMX bike, Eli showed mad skills. He would nail a clean 720 and then show one of those Eli grins. Beyond that, he was a friend, or brother, or mentor, to all, and a rock solid community member. The esteem others held for Eli  was evident in the Skatepark Jam held in his honor 1/1/20, which some called the largest gathering seen in the skatepark. The memorial book from the Jam is page after page of people wanting to say what Eli meant to them. Also, friends of Eli's established a GoFundMe (Thanks, Dantae and Stanley!) for Eli's medical expenses that raised over $5,000 dollars.

Eli also valued other positive paths forward. He was working in auto parts retail, and had risen to management responsibilities, and was looking forward to returning to college in the fall.

Sign the petition, and let us memorialize a wnnderful person and brother! Thanks -
