Stop Testing Cigarettes on Animals

For years, we've known the dangers of smoking cigarettes and the health hazards associated with tobacco. A warning of these effects is even printed on every pack. But some people still choose to inhale.

The animals these cigarettes are tested on don't have a choice.

In an attempt to dispute the thoroughly proven notion that cigarettes are harmful to one's health, the tobacco industry forces beagle puppies and other animals to breathe in this noxious poison. The pups are hooked up to a gas mask-like device then pumped full of smoke for upwards of ten hours a day. When the labs are done with these "test subjects", they are killed and their organs studied for the impacts of the smoke.

The tobacco industry uses puppies as pawns in the struggle to redeem cigarettes. Fight this atrocious injustice: Tell Big Tobacco to stop testing on animals.

The health risks associated with smoking cigarettes have been widely proven and are documented by a label on each pack of cigarettes.

Yet the tobacco industry continues to test the affects of cigarette smoke on animals in an attempt to disprove the notion that tobacco is harmful to one's health. Beagle puppies, among other animals, are hooked up to gas mask-like devices and forced to breathe in the smoke. After months or years of this forced inhaling, the puppies are killed so that researchers can study their organs and the after-affects of tobacco smoke exposure.

When one chooses to smoke cigarettes, they are choosing to risk their health with tobacco smoke. These animals, the same animals we welcome into our homes and we call "man's best friend," don't make that choice. Don't use puppies as pawns in the struggle to redeem smoking cigarettes. I urge you to stop testing on animals.
