Mohamed Cheikh Ould Mkhaitir's arrest is a direct violation of his right to free expression.

Mohamed Mkhaitir is a blogger that is facing execution in Mauritania.  He wrote an article explaining the use of religion by some people in Mauritania in order to justify race or social status discrimination. Within his article, he used examples from the of the Prophet Muhammed. His article inspired thousands of protesters to meet in front of the Presidential Palace and due to this, Mohamed has been convicted and sentenced with the death penalty for apostasy.
