Tell Governor Cuomo to Invest in New York's Clean Energy Future!

Right now, Governor Cuomo is developing a comprehensive plan for our state's energy future, called the "Energy Highway." He requested proposals and 130 were submitted -- some for clean energy projects like wind power and others for dirty, polluting energy sources like coal and gas.

Governor Cuomo will soon decide if he'll invest in a future of clean energy or dirty fuels.

Send a message to Governor Cuomo today urging him to develop an energy plan that prioritizes clean energy like solar, wind and efficiency.
Subject: Invest in New York's Clean Energy Future

Dear Governor Cuomo,

As a New Yorker, clean energy is important to me. So is reclaiming our reputation for innovation and job creation. I applaud your leadership in the Energy Highway initiative and I support maximum investments in renewable energy.

There were many promising proposals put forth in the Energy Highway Request For Information, including utility-scale offshore wind providing reliable, clean energy to Long Island and New York City and urging the state to meet its aggressive statewide efficiency targets. If implemented, such projects would make New York a leader in clean, efficient, and safe energy.

Additionally, I urge the Task Force to reject the uneconomical and unnecessary proposals for coal and natural gas use at the Huntley and Dunkirk power stations. I also oppose additional power purchase agreements (PPAs) for the bankrupt coal-fired power plants in Cayuga and Somerset.

Please use this historic opportunity to invest in a clean, safe, and efficient energy future for all New Yorkers -- a future that promotes real solutions including offshore wind, solar energy, and efficiency and conservation.
