Fight Burkitt's Lymphoma and Other Noncommunicable Diseases

Burkitt's Lymphoma (BL) is a highly aggressive -- but treatable -- childhood cancer occurring in areas where malaria is prevalent. It can cause extremely disfiguring swelling of the jaw, eyes, face and abdomen. BL attacks quickly and can be fatal within just weeks if not treated promptly and appropriately. A cure is often only six chemotherapy treatments away.

But getting those chemotherapy treatments is a challenge for children in developing countries.

Fortunately, we can help. In September, the U.N. met on the problem of noncommunicable diseases, including cancers like BL.

This meeting represents a rare opportunity to educate world leaders about the importance of addressing the health dangers represented by noncommunicable diseases. Sign this petition to show your support for world leaders to act on the meeting's draft resolution and address the issue noncommunicable diseases, including BL.
