Demand to immediately rescind the forced resignation of Coach Jess Barragan and reinstate Mr. Barragan as Head Coach of Monte Vista Freshmen football team

We, the parents and coaching staff of the Monte Vista High School Freshmen Football Team demand that Mr. Jess Barragan's "forced resignation" be rescinded immediately and that he be reinstated as Head Coach of the Monte Vista Freshmen Football Team.

At a parent meeting with the Vice Principal of the Athletic Department Oct. 3, 2018 at 6:00 P.M., it was stated that Coach Barragan was forced to resign from his position as Head Coach due to an incident regarding a player injury. The incident in reference was NOT fully investigated and the reasoning for his termination is UNFOUNDED. The forced resignation was made without even speaking to the parent of the injured player or the assistant coaching staff who were on the field with the player during the game. Protocol, as stated in the CIF handbook regarding informing a parent of the possibility of a head injury was followed. The mother of the player has provided proof that contact was made to her regarding the injury. There is NOTHING in the CIF Concussion information that states the parents must be contacted within a specific amount of time. The mother of the player was camping with her younger children and out of range of cell service when the call was made and the grandmother who is listed on the emergency contact was called and unable to be reached. The mother of said player has confirmed that she received notification of the injury with on a voicemail that was left on her cell phone by Coach Jess Barragan.

Coach Jess Barragan is more than a coach to our children, he is the pilar of this orgnization and a leader that has gone above and beyond the call of duty. His leadership skills on and off the field has changed the trajectory for many of our children in the classroom, at home and on the field.

If Coach Jess Barragan is not reinstated to Head Coach of the Monte Vista Freshmen Football team immediately, we will be forced to go to the Media with the possibility of a lawsuit being filed.
