Fund The DCA cancer research at the University of Alberta
Dear Mr Clement, We would like to urge you to fund and facilitate a fast track process of the human trials of Dichloroacetate. The research could potentially save many lives. The people of the world have already donated a sizeable sum lets see the government of Canada invest in our collective future. This is just one more chapter in Canada's amazing history of medical firsts and breakthoughs. Lets do it with speed and set the world on its ear once again. From those who's lives are touched by cancer we thank you Mr Clement.
The reseach of Evangelos Mickelakis of the University of Alberta (expanding on the work of Otto Warburg in 1930) has shown that the compound DCA shows vast promise as a pan-cancer treatment as it reactivates mitochondrial engery production in cells, causing mutated cells (ie cancers) to self destruct. However no clinical trials are being run on this potential treatment as no patent any longer exsists on the compound, so there is no money to be made. I believe that our goverment should show the lead in funding the requirred clinical trials.
