Permanent Daylight Savings Time

To Keep Daylight Savings Time Permanently

To The Honorable Secretary of State of California

We, the undersigned, registered, qualified voters of California, hereby propose and petition the Secretary of State to submit the same to voters of California for their adoption or rejection at the next succeeding general election or at any special statewide election held prior to that general election or otherwise provided by law.  The propsal reads as follows:

To Maintain Daylight Savings Time on a Permanent Basis, 365 days a year.

There is no longer a need to change the time back and forth to aid farmers - the majority of agriculture in the State of California is done on Factory Farms.  Changing the time back and forth is a throw back to an era long gone.  It is no longer necessary.

It is hard on the human body to change time zones.  It is a difficult adjustment, causing insomina and difficulty upon arising. As a direct result, there is a loss of productivity as people struggle to overcome the forced change by their body clock.

People are drowsy at work, children are inattentive at school, people are sleepy on the roads, not alert when they need to be during the weeks following a time change.

The State of Arizona has successfully stayed on permanent Daylight Savings Time with no ill effects.  It is time for California to follow suit.

Thank you.
