Free Elijah!

I am writing in hopes that a special dog can find his loving place in life. His name is Elijah, a pit bull that was rescued from Columbus Animal Control February 9, 2012.  Rescued by Animal Ark Rescue, a local foster based shelter. He was scheduled to be euthanized within 3 days. He wouldn’t have survived that long. Elijah was rushed to a local veterinarian to be cared for by Dr. Rene Lefranc, that's when my life forever changed. Elijah weighed 36 lbs, he was skin and bones; and already in liver and kidney failure. He required immediate care.  The next week I watched Elijah’s health improve. I cried tears of joy, and I am proud of the brave boy he became after being neglected. He gained weight and gained a new sense on life. He had so much trust in his eyes when he looked at me. Elijah was adopted into what should have been a great home on February 29, 2012, where he would completely recover with his forever family.  Things took a turn for the worse less than 24 hours later. The adopter called Animal Control to only have him locked up again. There are very conflicting stories as to what happened on this dreadful day. The local animal advisory board refuses to release Elijah to Animal Ark Rescue. They are also denying him medical care he desperately needs. Without release, Elijah will be euthanized.  I am scared to imagine what condition he is in now. I am pleading for Elijah’s release, so he has the chance for redemption in a secure environment.  Elijah trusted me and this is an injustice to be forced to give up on him now.

Please pressure your officials to release Elijah to Animal Ark Rescue, give him the chance of life he deserves.

We the undersigned want nothing more then for Elijah to be immediatly released from isolation at Columbus Animal Control. We want him to be released for urgent care at the veterinarian that has cared for him since his first release February 9, 2012. After his medical treatment, he will be released to Animal Ark Rescue, to be a permanent pet to the rescue. He will be evaluated by a certified trainer, and receive any treatment or training at that time. Please re-consider your decision on Elijah, and give him the chance for redemption. Thank you for time and thoughts on this.
