Tell Donald Trump: We Need to Build Bridges to Immigrant Communities, Not Walls

You've seen the hate. You've heard the ugly slurs. Donald Trump's demonization of immigrants is tearing our country apart. His obsession with "building a great wall" on our Southwest border pits us against each other. His racist policies will pull America back to the darkest days in our history.

It's not enough to shake our heads or laugh off Trump's bizarre carnival of xenophobia. Unstopped, Trump will do tremendous damage to our country. It’s not enough to hope the voters get it right in November. We need to stand up – right now – to his bullying. We need to reject Trump's politics of hate.

I know from experience what can happen when immigrants are given the chance to succeed. I was born in India, and my parents spent every cent they had to send me to school in the United States when I was sixteen. For the last 25 years, I've been fighting to bring communities together – to expand opportunities for immigrants like me who are working their hearts out for their own versions of the American Dream.

America is great because America is good. And we're at our best when we bring our hardworking immigrant neighbors out into the light of day and into America’s mainstream, where their contributions strengthen our economy.

This is your chance to say 'no' to Donald Trump's hate campaign. Please join your voice to ours right now – to send a clear message that America’s diversity is at the core of our strength. We need to build bridges between our diverse communities, not more walls.
