Tell Reporters: “Stop being so overly polite to Trump. It’s impossible to do your job when you’re being obsequious”

It happens again and again -- a reporter very politely asks Trump a very reasonable question, and if Trump doesn't want to answer it, he just throws out insults, obvious lies, or some other stream of consciousness word salad that bears no resemblance to an actual answer. And because it's not considered "appropriate" to tell the president "you're obviously lying" or "those are just random words, not a response," the question is left unanswered.

It's time to stop being polite, it's time to demand answers, and it's time to stop giving Trump presidential-level respect he hasn't earned.

We get why reporters would feel the need to be overly polite and deferential with a president. And for most of our nation's history, that was appropriate.

But Trump is no ordinary president. He is a serial liar, a thug, and a bully. And if reporters want to get answers from him, they need to hit back hard, using Trump's own tactics. Mock him, belittle him, yell back at him.  Do what is needed to get an answer.

This isn't high tea with the queen, it's defending the truth from a wannabe dictator who's declared war on it. And reporters are our last line of defense.

Please add your name and tell reporters: "Stop being so overly polite to Trump. It's impossible to do your job when you're being obsequious"
