Urge Congress to restore Fiscal Discipline

We cannot stand by and watch our country's financial future be gambled away by irresponsible and dishonest accounting in Washington. Individual investors and countless others are banding together to fight for honesty in our economy.

Join Us in Demanding Fiscal Discipline in Washington

Congress pretended that tax cuts and increased spending do not impact the deficits, and now our federal budget is nearly $500 billion in the hole. OUTRAGEOUS! Our most urgent priority right now is to stop the deficit from getting even worse.

Our message to Congress is…

YOU ... MUST ... PAY ... AS ... YOU ... GO

Sign the petition below to Congress TODAY and together we can return integrity and fiscal discipline to Washington!

Dear Representative,

I am writing you as a citizen and an investor concerned about our nation's future, and right now the future is looking grim.

Lack of fiscal discipline and honesty is threatening our fiscal security, and an absence of honest accounting is making it worse. Tax cuts that aren't offset by spending cuts increase the deficit, just as spending increases that aren't offset by cuts elsewhere do. We simply cannot afford this irresponsibility with a deficit that is already approaching a record $500 billion -- and growing.

The "pay-as-you-go" or "pay-go" rules that helped lead to balanced budgets in the 1990s have been abandoned. The new rules don't account for the impact of tax cuts on the amount of money available to spend on national priorities like defense, health care, and education. The fact is, tax cuts affect the bottom line. It's time to return honesty to government accounting.

Please support restoring pay-go rules that require Congress to account for the impact of both spending increases and tax-cuts when writing the federal budget.

Sincerely,

(your name)
