Take Back the Bowater Mersey Woodland!

One of the largest available swaths of land available in Nova Scotia, the Bowater Mersey woodland, is at risk of complete destruction if it falls into the wrong hands.

A non-local, multinational forest company has its eye on the area. Citizens suspect that soon the land will be flattened and turned into subdivisions if they can't convince the Dexter government to buy it back instead.

Under local control, the Bowater woodland could be turned into resource land that could inspire changes in current forestry practices. The citizens also aim to protect the Bowater Mersey's unique ecology and provide recreational enjoyment.

The depressed pulp industry has drastically lowered the purchase price, giving this community a one shot opportunity to move in. But the province won't buy the land unless we can rally up enough public support.

Stand with this community and tell the province of Nova Scotia to buy back the Mersey!
Dear [Decision Maker],

We have raised public support for purchasing the Bowater Mersey woodland areas with the country and community's best interest's in mind. Failing to leap on this once in a lifetime opportunity could result in an outside company flattening out the land and using them for more subdivisions.

We hope to keep the Bowater Mersey safe and available for better forestry management. The public have spoken and urge you to buy back the land while we still have the chance.

Sincerely,
