Demand Harper’s Conservatives act now to end Violence Against Aboriginal Women

Stephen Harper’s Conservatives have failed to address violence against Aboriginal women, sparking widespread criticism, including from the UN Human Rights Council. They recently rejected the UN’s proposal to conduct a comprehensive national review on the issue.

Violence against Aboriginal women is a huge problem in Canada, and the Conservatives have done nothing to work toward a solution. According to an Amnesty International report, indigenous women are five to seven times more likely than other women to die as a result of violence.

Many other countries have joined the UN in calling on Canada to review and investigate the deaths and disappearances of Aboriginal women. Please sign this petition for a national inquiry and demand Conservatives take action to end violence against Aboriginal women.
