Prepare Yourself and Your Pets for an Emergency

This past year has proven that we need to prepare for the unexpected — extreme cold and heat, ice storms, power outages, and torrential rain.

We are learning to be prepared — but have you thought about what your pet might need during an emergency? If you have to evacuate, where will you take your pets if they can't come with you? Did you know you are responsible for your pet, even during an emergency? Making arrangements before the chaos of an emergency can increase your pet's chances of survival and greatly reduce the fear and anxiety your pet may experience.

An emergency preparedness kit for your pet includes a 72-hour supply of food, bowls and bottled water; blankets/towels; a photo of your pet in case they get lost; a list of boarding facilities and hotels/motels that accept pets; and your pet's microchip or ID #s.

Will you and your pets be prepared during the next emergency? Take the pledge now and learn more!
