Fire Racist High School Basketball Coach!

Coach Derek Howard was caught on video making unprovoked, racist remarks at a student. He told Marcus Williams Jr., an African American student at Winnetonka High, that he should label himself as a "future welfare recipient". This is not the first time the coach has made racist comments. It is also reported that he told the African American players on his basketball team that they would grow up to be laborers that make less than $30,000 a year.
Coach Howard's comments are completely unacceptable, especially in an educational institution where students look up to coaches for mentorship and guidance. His hurtful attitudes have no place in a school, and yet all he has been asked to do is apologize to Marcus Williams Jr. and his family.
Students should not have to feel threatened by people whom they are supposed to be able to trust. Urge the President of Winnetoka High to fire Coach Howard immediately.
Dear Principal Matt Lindsey,
The remarks made by Coach Derek Howard are completely unacceptable. Coach Howard's comments prove that he has been subjecting students to hateful and derogatory attitudes that have potentially affecting their performance at school.
Targeting African-American students and publicly degrading them is racist and in no way, shape, or form should be acceptable on school grounds. Kids deserve to feel safe and respected when they go to school, not ridiculed and demeaned.
