Women and girls deserve to be safe from violence after emergencies

In times of crisis, people are often forced to flee their homes. Without shelter and with limited financial resources, women and girls can find themselves facing exploitation, violence and abuse. Creating safe spaces for women and girls following emergencies can help prevent violence against women.

The number of humanitarian emergencies around the globe is increasing at an alarming rate. Emergencies caused by climate change, conflict, and health crises have led to an overwhelming need for humanitarian assistance.

Because women and girls still do not have equal representation, rights and access to resources we must work to support women and girls so they can recover after a crisis.
