Urgent: Ask your senator to vote YES on the Recovering America's Wildlife Act

We're on the verge of achieving a major legislative win for bird and wildlife conservation. The Recovering America's Wildlife Act (RAWA) just passed in the House and is now headed to a Senate vote — it needs your support immediately.

One-third of all fish and wildlife species in the United States are at risk of becoming Threatened or Endangered. Urgent action and funds are needed halt biodiversity loss in the U.S., including the loss of 3 billion birds since 1970.

States, territories, and tribes play an essential role in addressing species loss, but there is a massive gap in funding for their conservation programs.

The Recovering America's Wildlife Act would provide much-needed resources for wildlife conservation across the nation.

You can help the more than 12,000 species in need of conservation efforts: Ask your Senator to support the Recovering America's Wildlife Act.
Dear Senator,

Recovering America's Wildlife Act (S.1149) has been reintroduced in the Senate, and we ask that you support this legislation.

One-third of all fish and wildlife species in the United States are at risk of becoming Threatened or Endangered. The crisis facing our nation's fish and wildlife is daunting, but this legislation provides a solution. The Recovering America's Wildlife Act (RAWA) will provide state fish and wildlife agencies and Indian Tribes with dependable, dedicated resources to help more than 12,000 species in need of proactive, voluntary conservation before a listing as Endangered or Threatened under the Endangered Species Act is warranted.

This would help recover and conserve species at risk by investing $1.3 billion annually for states and $97.5 million for tribal nations for on-the-ground conservation projects. The legislation funds the implementation of the congressionally mandated State Wildlife Action Plans, which outline specific, science -based conservation actions necessary to recover and sustain healthy fish and wildlife populations.

Not only will RAWA provide necessary funding for imperiled birds and wildlife, it will also provide a much-needed boost to the economy by creating thousands of jobs.

Thank you for your support for collaborative conservation efforts.

Sincerely,

[your name]
