Tell Congress to Protect Patient Access to Medicare

Patients deserve a stable and accessible health care system — one where they can see a doctor when you need to.
But temporary patches and ongoing cuts to the Medicare physician payments have left patient access to care at serious risk. For years, Medicare payments have failed to keep up with rising medical costs, creating pressure on physician practices and forcing many to limit their services or close their doors altogether.
These payment cuts continue to create challenges for patients and physicians alike, yet Washington has been unwilling to fix the root of problem.
It's time for that to change!
Leaders in Washington must work with patient and physician communities to find a long-term solution that will finally fix the flawed payment system and stabilize Medicare for generations to come.
Please take a moment to sign the petition and tell your members of Congress to stand up for patients and physicians by finding a solution that ends the cycle of cuts!
Over the past two decades, Medicare physician payment rates have declined by 33% when adjusted for practice costs, leaving physicians struggling to figure out how they can continue to provide needed care to their elderly and chronically ill patients.
Physicians are the only health care providers who do not receive an annual inflationary update tied to the Medicare Economic Index (MEI) leading to physician payment falling year-after-year, when the number of patients covered under Medicare skyrockets.
While recent efforts have provided a modest update for 2026, it followed five consecutive years of payment cuts and did little to address the urgent need for structural payment reform. If Congress fails to act, the impact will fall hardest on small, independent and rural practices and those serving low-income and historically marginalized communities – further threatening patient access to care.
I urge you to support long-term reforms that tie physician payment to the MEI, protect patient access to care, and preserve the sustainability of physician practices across the country.
