Ad Hoc Committee of Shatat Palestinians in Support of National Unity

We are a group of Palestinians living in North America calling on all Palestinians to refrain from violence or threats of violence against other Palestinians.
PLEASE READ FULL STATEMENT BELOW

We are Palestinian Americans and Palestinians living in North America who come from diverse political perspectives, occupations, and involvements in our people's struggle for justice. We are united, however, in our support and commitment to achieve our people's fundamental human and national rights - to equality, to freedom from Israeli occupation, and, for those Palestinians in forced exile, to return to their homes and homeland. We are also united in our deep distress over violence among the Palestinian people in the Occupied Gaza Strip and West Bank.

We deeply grieve the recent deaths and injuries of all our Palestinian brothers and sisters, no matter their beliefs and political affiliations.  But we firmly reject internal violence as a cure to any of the problems that currently face us as a people. We know that our enemies celebrate as we destroy ourselves, both literally, and as a coherent political movement struggling for justice as a people.

We, therefore, implore all Palestinian leaders, and all Palestinian individuals, to refrain from any violence or threats of violence against other Palestinians. We ask all Palestinians to renew our collective commitment to justice for our people as a whole, and to unite again to achieve our national objectives.

We wish to assure our brothers and sisters who face the daily brutalities of Israel military occupation with courage and steadfastness that you are not alone. We have not forgotten you, nor our commitment to our people's just struggle. We are with you and always will be. We wish you strength and wisdom in these difficult days.
