Help Stop Stigma Against Mental Illness
This petition is submitted in an effort to reduce the stigma associated with mental illness which the media and promotional sales often propagate and increase, directly targeting the "Crazy For You Bear" in a straightjacket of the VtTeddyBear Co.
Dear VtTeddyBear Co,
It is the opinion of the undersigned individuals that your product, the "Crazy for You Bear" being marketed in a straightjacket, is considered to be in poor taste and is an affront to not only individuals with mental illness, but also to their loved ones.
We request that you consider the impact of the statement you make when marketing a product of this nature in contributing to the stigma often associated with mental illness and brain disorders, and reconsider your choice at this time as well as take greater care in future when choosing marketing "gimicks" for your product.
