Congress: Don't Scrap SNAP

In 2011, the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) helped feed over 44 million people in need. Many of those millions are hardworking Americans who have hit hard times and just need a little help keeping food on the table.

But instead of strengthening a program that helps feed children, seniors, and low-income families who may not be sure where their next meal will come from, Congress wants to cut SNAP by $36 billion. Simply put, this will leave too many kids and their families in need.

SNAP is unique in its ability to react quickly to economic trouble, making it a vital relief during the last few years. The program also encourages struggling individuals to find work and help support themselves in difficult economic times.

America needs SNAP benefits to keep families on their feet. Tell Congress to support SNAP rather than cutting benefits for people struggling with hunger.
Dear Congress,

The Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program keeps over 44 million Americans from starving each day. In addition to providing families with meal assistance, SNAP encourages struggling individuals to find work and help support themselves in this difficult economic time.

America needs SNAP benefits to keep families on their feet. We urge you to rescind the decision to cut SNAP funding by $36 million.
