Thank the "Veterans for Peace" for Standing Up Against Hate Crimes!

An Iraqi restaurant was vandalized by an unindetified man in Lowell, Massachusetts. The man threw a 20 pound rock through the front window of Babylon restaurant owned by recent immigrants Leyla Al-Zubayd and Ahmed Al-Zubaidi.

Fearing that this unprovoked act might be fueled by hate, "Veterans for America" leader Patrick Scanlon decided to arrange an "eat-in" at Babylon with other members from his group, filling the restaurant with over 100 people to protest the crime. The veterans showed solidarity with the restaurant owners by waving their American flags outside while others enjoyed the Iraqi cuisine.

This display of solidarity is not only moving, but inspiring. The actions of these veterans were able to give Leyla and Ahmed comfort and courage to stand against all who might oppose them.

Thank the Veterans for America for their leadership and actions to create solidarity within their community! Use their actions as an example to create support in your community today!
