Occupy Appalachia: End Mountaintop Removal Mining!

A new poll conducted by two bipartisan firms shows overwhelming support for ending mountaintop removal (MTR) coal mining within the Appalachian states of KY, TN, VA, and WV. Unfortunately, the politicians in these states and others are not acting based on the will of the people, but solely for their own political and financial benefit.
Three-quarters of voters in Appalachia support fully enforcing the Clean Water Act in order to keep our streams, rivers and lakes free of dirty runoff that results from MTR. Currently, communities' waters are being polluted with mercury and other toxics due to nearby MTR mines.
Politicians in Appalachia and all over the country are starting to hear about this study and have to be feeling the pressure to truly represent the people's wishes when it comes to MTR.
It's time to Occupy Appalachia and make our voices heard. Send a letter to your members of Congress today and tell them that you oppose mountaintop removal coal mining.

I am writing to express my strong opposition to mountaintop removal coal mining, and to ask that you do everything you can to enforce the Clean Water Act in our state.

All over the country people are speaking out against the damage that this dirty mining process is doing to our waters and to our health.
Unfortunately many of us have been disappointed by politicians who decide not to vote based on the will of the people of his/her state, but solely on his/her own benefit. I'm asking you now to listen to your constituents and help end mountaintop removal coal mining forever.
