We, the undersigned, sincerely thank you in advance for your attention to the matter at hand as written below. Our group consists of determined, enthusiastic people with nothing but the very best of intentions in mind. As a group we ask you to please seriously consider the fact Mickey Rourke has been entertaining millions of people world-wide since 1979. We are firmly committed to achieving our goal which is to see that Mickey Rourke's name is placed on a star on The Hollywood Walk of Fame. Recognizing his numerous accomplishments would not only be fitting, but a well-deserved tribute to this living legend who has marveled discriminating cinema enthusiasts through his remarkable talent and expert thespian skills for so many years.

We wish to officially present this petition to the members of the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce as well as The Honorary Major of Hollywood, Mr. Johnny Grant, who directs The Hollywood Walk of Fame esteemed selection committee. Mickey Rourke performances have given so much to the entertainment industry. This scene-stealer has inspired so many in his field and he remains a powerful presence in the business. It would take numerous pages to list all his successful endeavors as both a powerful entertainer and passionate human being. We encourage everyone who has been touched by his work to sign this document, participate further by spreading the word and solicit others to take action as well. This movement has been organized for the sole benefit of having Mr. Rourke credited for his excellent works and we humbly thank all who participate, help and support the cause.

We strongly believe he has earned and deserves his rightful place on The Hollywood Walk of Fame for the lasting and continued contributions he has made to the cinema in general. People of all ages are still moved by his commanding presence in films of all genres and orientations. His diversity on camera is unmatched by any other in the field. In signing this petition, we are informing and reminding those who administrate the Hollywood Walk of Fame of the amazing impact he has had on generations of fans and the everlasting contributions he has made to the cinema. A stroll down the Walk of Fame is simply incomplete without Mickey Rourke being represented and recognized for all he has done.

Mr. Rourke has a huge loyal fan base who all agree he is by far one of the most gifted men alive but his accomplishments have generally gone without due reward or notice. Sadly, many mediocre celebrities have stars, awards and great notoriety while more deserving entertainers are overlooked and lack the recognition, honors and credit they are beyond worthy of. We ask those who appreciate, admire and wish to see his star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame to please sign this petition now! In this effort, we hope the opinion of the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce will be understanding and agreeable with the thoughts of many. We are preparing to launch an international effort through the Internet to solicit signatures for this purpose and hope our reasonable and valid wish will be granted. The public, critics, media and film lovers world-wide agree a sign of respect is due. This is also a small token of our love, gratitude and hope that the world can be reminded of Mickey each time they take that famous walk.
