To whom it may concern.

Dear Tripadvisor Management Team and Office,

On behalf of the signatures of the petition on www.Care2.com, we must express our concerns that your actions on the Oita Prefecture Palace Aquarium reviews have not gone unnoticed, and have in fact caused a lot of public attention.

It has come to our understanding that Tripadvisor.com has deleted all “terrible” rated protest reviews on the Oita Palace Aquarium, submitted in action to the concerns and outrage that is internationally recognized on the funding of the Dolphin hunts in Taiji. We must express our deepest discontent that Tripadvisor.com has submitted to take such an action.

We must also advise you that your Terms of Service are not freed from the laws of the United States of America and International Laws of the United Nations, as your firm is based in the USA. You are clearly violating the law of independent protests “…in written, verbal or any other form as long as these do not violate the laws of the United States.” In addition your actions are marked as censorship which contradicts with the law of free press in the United States.

Next to these unfortunate circumstances we must notice that Tripadvisor.com no longer values its own content and reviews, and can therefore not be regarded as a trustworthy internet review portal for its users.

In recent weeks we have received a great number of supporters on the protests against the dolphin hunts in Taiji, including British MPs and public VIPs who have clearly spoken out their concerns for this dolphin massacre. We hoped that Tripadvisor would also understand the inhumane nature of this crime that is recognized by so many people all over the world, thus we submitted our reports to inform travelers of the origin of the Oita Palace Aquarium’s dolphins and other marine wildlife. This was, as stated before, not recognized by your firm and instead deleted, clearly censoring information useful to the users of your platform.

We hereby ask you once more, whether this is the light in which you would like to portray the image of your website to the public?

We ask you to recognize our protests and allow such reviews to be posted on your internet website, informing the public about the truth behind the origin of the funds given by institutions such as the Oita Marine Palace Aquarium.

It would not only be to our utmost disappointment if Tripadvisor ignored our protests and petitions, but also to that of the international community. Please see this link and be confirmed that our petition has been submitted: http://www.thepetitionsite.com/512/796/245/tripadvisor-bans-terrible-reviews-on-taiji-oita-aquarium/

Please also take a moment to view the attached images of this e-mail and comments by signers of the petition on the link and judge for yourself whether you stand behind these well supported arguments.

We would appreciate cooperation and would be happy to avoid further interest in your actions through the public media. We would like to refrain from taking additional legal action against Tripadvisor, if our voices are heard and understood.

Yours sincerely,

The concerned international community.
