Rescind the National Childhood Vaccine Injury Act

The National Childhood Vaccine Injury Act (NCVIA) of 1986 (42 U.S.C. §§ 300aa-1 to 300aa-34) was enacted in the United States to reduce the potential financial liability of vaccine makers due to vaccine injury claims. The legislation was aimed at ensuring a stable market supply, and to provide cost-effective arbitration for vaccine injury claims. Under the NCVIA, the National Vaccine Injury Compensation Program (NVICP) was created to provide a federal no-fault system for compensating vaccine-related injuries or death by establishing a claim procedure involving the United States Court of Federal Claims and special masters.
Since the enactment of this law on October 1, 1988 we have gone from 5 vaccinations for a child under one year old up to 18 vaccinations but could be as many as 26 vaccinations for a child under one year old. We have an increase in cases of Autism from 1 in 100,000 in the 1980s to 1 in 100 in 2008.
We have a HPV vaccine that is being administered now that has the potential to cause 73.3% increase of new medical conditions in our youth. The injustice of this law to the citizens of this country will not be felt for another 10 to 20 years when these children become adults and/or their parents are no longer able to care for them. The repercussions to our health system will be astronomical as to the financial burden it is going to place on the working citizens of this country. We need to bring the accountability of vaccine injury back to the pharmaceutical companies.
By signing this petition you will be telling Congress to rescind this law and make the pharmaceutical companies liable to the citizens for vaccine injuries. My hope is that if this law is rescinded this will cause the pharmaceutical companies to create safe vaccines and a safe vaccine schedule for our precious youth.

We need to bring the accountability of vaccine injury back to the pharmaceutical companies. The repercussions to our health system will be in the trillions as to the financial burden it is going to place on the working citizens of this country.
We are already in financial crisis in this country and the United States citizen is no longer able to shoulder the burden that the continuation of this law has the potential to bring.
Think about the future of this great country and the citizens that support it. Rescind this law and bring the accountability back to the creators of the vaccines.
Our hope is that if this law is no longer in place the pharmaceutical companies will create safe vaccines and we will have a safe vaccine schedule for the youth of today and the youth of tomorrow.
