Why should we pay $50 for a second proprietary hard drive cable for HP Pavilion Laptops?

In this day and age, why should we, the customers of the outrageously expensive laptops, computers, and other electronic devices, should put up with corporate greed?  Why should it cost $50 more to hook up a second hard drive for my laptop when the cable costs pennies to make? And $400 for the complete kit with a 160GB solid state drive! I say that's practically robbery on the part of HP.  Such corporate bull will not be tolerated!
We the undersigned would like to see a significant price drop for the $50 proprietary SATA cable for HP Pavilion Laptops (part #665597-00 and the like).  Your faithful customers, who shell out hundreds of dollars for these personal computers, do not deserve to be treated unfairly.  We believe that you make good dependable products, but we will not put up with price-gouging.  If this continues, we will invest our dollars into your competitors.
