Stop torturing monkeys for secret experiments!

The University of California at Davis (UC-Davis) has one of the largest primate laboratories in the United States, with more than 4,500 monkeys being cruelly exploited for breeding or taxpayer-funded experiments.

Recently UC Davis has been conducting secretive experiments on monkeys. According to papers published by PETA, UC Davis is isolating infant monkeys from their mothers and subjecting them to various stressful situations, such as forcing them to see videos of other monkeys demonstrating aggressive behavior. Baby monkeys have died from lack of veterinary care, neglegence, and inhumane handling by the workers. One infant even died of internal bleeding after staff shot her with a tranquilizer gun.

When PETA requested for video recording which shows the detailed experiments on these monkeys, UC Davis has denied stating "researcher's privilege". But California law requires the university to release this footage, so the researchers are also breaking the law, just so they can keep their animal experiments secret and out of the public eye. This is inhumane and barbaric!

Several monkeys are locked in small enclosures subjecting them to severe stress. In the past many animals have died due to lack of basic medical care. This needs to STOP immediately! Sign the petition if you agree!
