Demand Compensation for a Lack of Hot Water

For over a month we had little to no access to hot water. We are paying premium fees in rent and have been told we won't be getting compensation. This is ridiculous - the idea of staying in private halls, which include all our bills, is to ensure a lack of worry for these kind of issues. This is not a first time problem, as there were issues last year. Those who stayed here last year said they got 15% of the daily rate refunded for a lack of heating and hot water. We believe this should be the case with our hot water issues. With the renovations going on, it is absurd that they don't have the money to properly sort out the boilers. Those who have attempted to complain have been running in circles, unable to get any fixed dates as to when the boilers will be sorted.
