Tell Congress to investigate Trump's attempt to host the G7 at his own property

In yet another brazen, self-serving move, President Trump announced that the 2020 G7 summit would be hosted at his struggling Trump National Doral Miami resort next June. How incredibly convenient!

At a time when Doral has seen significant declines in revenue, what better way to help cook the books than to host the leaders of the world's seven largest economies for a days-long summit sure to draw thousands of security personnel, government attaches, policy experts and media representatives to your exclusive (and very expensive!) resort?

The blowback was predictably swift and surprisingly bipartisan. Days later the Trump administration walked back the announcement, laughably blaming the media and "crazed and irrational" Democrats for the uproar.

While we can take some small comfort in knowing that Republicans privately pushed their petulant strongman-in-chief to reconsider, the fact remains – this president is incapable of upholding the solemn responsibilities of the presidency. Time and again, he behaves in a manner designed to serve and enrich himself, to benefit the Trump brand, and with minimal resistance from a feckless Republican party.

Add your name to tell Congress to investigate the botched G7 summit site selection process and hold the Trump administration accountable for this grievous overreach of executive power. The emoluments clause in our Constitution explicitly forbids this very behavior. As a co-equal branch of government, it is Congress' duty to investigate and hold the president accountable.
