Hotels Must Allow Pets of Families Seeking Hurricane Shelter!

Following Hurricane Harvey, one Texas family was forced to leave their three dogs in the car overnight in the rain after the Holiday Inn Express where they sought shelter refused to bend its no-pet policy for the night. As a result of public pressure, parent company IHG apologized to the family and announced that all of its franchises in areas impacted by the hurricane were instructed to accommodate pets.

With Hurricane Irma quickly approaching Florida, we must make sure that fleeing families do not experience what this Texas family experienced.

Please sign this petition demanding that two of the biggest hotel chains in Florida, Wyndham Hotels and Choice Hotels, allow families seeking shelter to bring pets to their hotels.

Wyndham Hotels and Choice Hotels are the parent companies for several well-known hotels: Ramada, Days Inn, Super 8, Travelodge, and Knights Inn (Wyndham); and Comfort Inn, Quality Inn, and EconoLodge (Choice). While many of these hotels are pet-friendly, individual policies differ from hotel to hotel since they are franchises and not centrally owned.

Families seeking refuge from Hurricane Irma have enough to worry about. Making sure their pets have a warm and safe place to sleep shouldn’t be one of them.

Let’s join together to help families and their pets. Please sign this petition demanding that Wyndham Hotels and Choice Hotels allow all pets while families make their way to safety in Florida.
