These Greyhound Racing Execs Get Bonuses for 'Getting Rid Of' Dogs

In a shocking revelation, the agency that governs greyhound racing in New South Wales has been exposed for treating retired racing greyhounds as sales targets. Executives are incentivized to keep breeding and shipping off greyhounds without any concern for the dogs wellbeing – they reportedly even receive bonuses based on the number of dogs they "get rid of."

Reports from insiders paint a grim picture of Greyhound Racing New South Wales' (GRNSW) operations, where financial incentives drive decisions rather than animal welfare.

Executives reportedly insist on sending greyhounds with health issues that are unsuitable for "proper" to the US to meet the organization's rehoming quotas. Once these dogs are shipped, they are counted as "rehomed," despite many ending up just sitting in kennels or being transferred between adoption centers in the US without the promise of a forever home. Some dogs have even died.

To make matters worse, GRNSW shut down one of just two adoption centers for ex-racing dogs, firing the only staff that cares about these innocent creatures.

The closure of the adoption agency and the so-called "repurposing" to facilitate sending more dogs abroad under the guise of adoption reveal a grim reality: greyhounds are being exported at an alarming rate without proper consideration for their well-being or suitability for travel. This is not adoption; it is exploitation.

Sign this petition to urge Greyhound Welfare & Integrity Commission to stop GRNSW from prioritizing animal welfare over profits!
