Demand an End to Energy Companies Standing Charges

According to energy suppliers the daily standing charge represents the money they need for infrastructure maintenance. Why should we, the customers, pay the cost of running their business? The standing charge is tantamount to profiteering. The UK government should legislate and make standing charges illegal. Corporate greed as demonstrated by these giant corporations needs to be curtailed. The public are not cash cows, they are the means by which corporations make their money and they should never lose sight of that fact.
