Please Make a Same-Sex Wedding Barbie Set, Mattel!

Barbies are such a fun way to create stories and imagine how different family and relationship structures can look. That's why it's so amazing that this gay couple who are about to be married are trying to get Mattel to create a same-sex wedding barbie set!

Let's show our support for the idea by signing this petition so Mattel knows it will be commercially viable!

Matt Jacobi and Nick Caprio of Scottsdale, Arizona wanted to get their two nieces a Barbie set that represented them, but ended up having to have a custom set made. How wonderful would it be if people could buy this set off the shelf though? What better way to teach kids that families are formed all kinds of ways than through the toys they play with!

The two nieces have been excited about the wedding all year because they're going to be flower girls — and now they can act out the wedding ahead of time with their new Barbie set.

It just goes to show that kids aren't inherently full of hate. If we teach them all the different ways love can look, they have no problem with it. Not to mention, as more and more gay folks get married, there will be more and more kiddos with married gay parents. So why not normalize the whole thing through toys to get ahead of the uneccessary bullying and judgment?

Amazingly, Mattel saw their custom set and reached out for a meeting. This means that they just need to know the public supports the idea so they can go ahead with production. That's where you come in:
