Stop taking advantages of students! Demand that Italy regulates school internships.

In Italy, a new legislation has established a programme for a 200-400 hour internship, per year, for high school students. The aim is to have a better education, improving skills on topics for the school in the field.

After a year of this project, thousands of students have complained about the way they have been treated by companies recruiting them. The main problem being, most of companies have taken advantage of students, proposing them to work in jobs not related to their chosen subject at school. Unfortunately, following this legislation a monitory commission that controls and accredits the companies has not been set.

Furthermore: there is no right for students who are absent due to illness or pregnancy; no salary or refund for any expenses; and there is no agreement between the school and the companies on student timetables. This often results in students missing classes.

This should not be what school internships are about: is it fair that our students have been used to fill up a company need instead of using this occasion to teach?

Please, help Italian students in fighting this unfair system. Ask the Government to change the law and create a monitory commission. Then, sign this petition and share it!
