Urge Sky Angel to honor lifetime & monthly subscribers

Hello,

My name is Teddianne Parent and I purchased 2 lifetime subscriptions to Sky Angel in 1997.  As you know, sky angel is now converting to a new program delivery system called IPTV and they will no longer be using Dish network.

All Sky Angel subscriptions including Lifetime subscribers will expire at that time unless we subscribe to an IPTV programming package, which range from $14.99 to $24.99/mo.

In order to receive the IPTV, one has to already have or have installed high speed internet via cable or DSL.  So along with your IPTV cost, you will have a high speed internet cost (ususally $40.00 - 60.00/mo.).    You do not need a computer to receive service, just the connection and a modem.  But if you already have a computer with a modem for high speed internet and T.V. set is not right near your computer so you can plug into your modem,  you will need to purchase a wireless router get reception to your television.

Sky Angel is expecting people who subscribe to IPTV to pay the total monthly subscription price for EACH television in the home that uses the system! Even dish network only charges $5/mo per extra television.

I along with many other Lifetime subscribers have not yet expired and we paid approximately $300 on average for our subscriptions as they started around $300 and increased over a few years to around $450.  This is not including the installation and equipment.  Even putting aside the lifetime subscriber subject, what anyone is to pay for keeping Sky Angel is difficult for many people  unless you already have high speed DSL or cable internet, only want to watch sky angel on one T.V. set and that set is within USB cable length to your computer.  In their letter they have stated the contract as being the lifetime of Dominion or the customer (paraphrased).  I understand this and the situation that they have been in as a small company competing against the giants, but the company Sky Angel still exists and it would be nice if they just could show more concern for lifetime subscribers and a better offer for more than one T.V. people and people with out high speed internet access.

I am moving that the company does two things to rectify their poor judgment in the way they have proceeded to upgrade their programming potential without considering the good faith and support they have received all of these years by their customers.  Without us they would not exist at all.

I am moving that the company refund to the Lifetime subscribers at least 75% of their subscription cost or offer at least a 20% discount on monthly subscriptions.  This may seem like a lot, however if they do this, they may profit by retaining those customers as IPTV subscribers.

I am also moving that instead of charging a double or more the monthly fee for additional televisions to be able to receive the programming and providing free receivers for this, valued at $149.00/ea., that they offer the customers an option to lease or purchase additional equipment at a fair and competitive price to those of other satellite or cable providers.

They could also perhaps try to work with high speed internet providers towards a subsidy for people who do not have computers or cannot afford High Speed Internet AND T.V. programming.   They would reach alot more people for Christ this way.

I believe that all of this would be within the reach of the Sky Angel company with God's help and can only benefit all of those affected by this change, especially the company, as it will restore their integrity and continue to bless their customers.

I would like you to consider signing this petition and pass the link along to as many as you know who have Sky Angel.  Thank you for taking the time to read this and for signing the petition.  God Bless you and your family.
