Help Fight for an End to Tattoo and Piercing Discrimination in the Workplace

At this point, March 2016, there are not any laws or single enforcement from protecting staff or potential staff from discrimination against tattoos and piercings in the workplace in individual businesses. Because of this evident issue, people who have tattoos and piercings are feeling singled out. There is not supposed to be any discrimination... so, why would ink on skin or piercings affect an individual's work ethic? It does not, is the answer.

So since this does not affect one's work ethic, how is it fair to be able to deny an individual a job over something essentially irrelevant? It is not. Which is where the whole reason of this petition comes into play. This petition requests a referendum to hiring or dress code policies that place any sort of restrictions on the employment or attire of tattooed or pierced applicants and the staff. This way, individuals who choose to express themselves through piercings and ink have the same job oppourtinites in the workforce as indiviudals who choose not to express themself the same way.

People with tattoos and piercings pay for college the same amount and get the same education as people without piercings and tattoos. Outside apperances does not affect that fact, so employers should not be able to deny someone's potential career simply based on their physical apperances.
